The fifth and sixth class pupils were invited to attend the Athlone Community College and Coláiste Chiaráin Musicals on Tuesday and Wednesday 21st and 22nd of November 2023. Athlone Community College staged its production of Beauty and The Beast over four consecutive nights in the Dean Crowe Theatre. The 2023 Transition Year class at Coláiste Chiaráin also performed their annual musical performance – which this year is a pantomime by Paul McCarrick entitled Star Warz – A Panto Menace – in the school gymnasium. We spotted some past pupils of Ballybay N.S. on the stage and it was lovely to see them giving it their all. The pupils all agreed that the musicals were thoroughly entertaining and it was nice to visit the Secondary Schools to support our past pupils.
